WEEE Directive
What is the WEEE Directive?
- The European Union’s “Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive” is now law (Directive 2002/96/EC).
- It states that all manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment and their agents (known as “producers”) are responsible for collecting and recycling the electrical goods they sell.
- Single Use Camera producers set up a programme for the collection and recycling of camera bodies, which is compatible with this recent legislation, many years ago.
- As a laboratory which processes the film from Single Use Cameras, you too have an important part to play to ensure that the bodies are returned for recycling through a WEEE authorised programme and not consigned to an unauthorised one.
- Please, therefore, take advantage of this WEEE authorised collection programme.
Your participation will benefit the SUC business and ensures that there is compliance with this legislation.
